marysharpwitted: (Wanna Hide)
The longest morning ever.

FIVE AND A HALF HOURS at the Chevy dealership so I can get Darcy's right side view mirror glass replaced. The first hour I walked to the grocery store so that I could buy some batteries and a notebook. Went back and for about another hour I sat on the floor because none of the men in the lounge would give up their seat. Granted they were older and I am young, but the offer would have been nice and gentlemanly.

I woke up at 6:30 to get there early and in the top of the queue. By the time I got there around 7:20, I was at the back of the pack! Finally five hours later they were able to do the repair that only took less than 30 minutes to complete!

To make matters worse, once all the others were out of the lounge and I had my spot on the comfy leather sofa, I fell asleep! It was hard to stay awake! I mean five hours at a car dealership will exhaust anyone! I wasn't even this exhausted when I bought my car two years ago...OMG on the 10th it will be two years!

Still I am very tired.

BUT YAY! I RECEIVED MY PASSPORT TODAY!

First repair is tomorrow. Techna Glass will come to my work and replace the cracked, evil windshield. Price: $155.00

Second, I called one of the local Chevrolet dealerships in my area to found out the cost of a replacement passenger side view mirror glass ($58.21 + tax) and their labor rate ($85.00/hr). The person said that the job generally takes a half an hour so it can cost anywhere from $100.71 + tax to 143.21 + tax (hoping that it won't go over an hour).

I ordered what I thought was an ergonomic (divided) keyboards with a gel wrist rest. It arrived today and it was just a gel wrist rest meant for a divided keyboard! I called Office Depot to arrange a return pick up. The rep took the order information and told me there will be a refund for $26.64 but they were not going to pick it up; that I can keep it, give it away, or throw it away.

My mind literally screamed "WHAT?" I asked her to repeat it too. And voila! she said the same thing. So, I think I'll keep it and buy the other keyboard I was thinking about, that didn't have the gel wrist rest, as I originally thought this order did. And I'll make sure to check my card in a few days to make sure the refund is there. I am armed with the confirmation number, just in case. I am out the shipping cost, but that's okay I have a free product on my hands.

Now I must go look at the other ergonomic keyboards I considered before.

But isn't the no pick up -keep the product you don't want- a little weird?
