Yesterday's news and a touch of today...
Mar. 4th, 2006 10:29 pmI intended to regale you all with my horrid driving experiences. But my anger subsided over them, so I'll have to work myself up again. It's possible -- I think.
Occurrence #1: In the morning driving to work, I was passing a mini-van operated by a white-haired older gentleman -- alright an old nearly senile man -- and he changed lanes right on top of me! Luckily the next lane wasn't occupied, therefore, I was able to avoid a gruesome catastrophe! Darcy has no desire to be in any further squirmishes! (Yes, yes, no need to comment on my car being called Darcy -- actually I may be convinced to relate my reasons behind it should any one want to know ;) and for a brief but incomplete account of previous incidents [all occurred in Decemeber, btw] see this myspace.com blog entry, The Great but Horrible Weekend.)
I have what I call a "lay-on-the-horn policy." I believe so many people drive badly because not enough people honk at their foolishness. Months back I made it my goal in life to honk at any driver who malevolently crossed my path. I mostly remember to do it. Unfortunately, in gramps's case I forgot. In retrospect, I decided it was for the best. I might have given the man a heart attack. And despite him "throwin' off my groove" I just couldn't have that sort of situation on my conscience. *shrugs*
Occurrence #s 2 and 3: Cut off twice returning from lunch to work. In these cases, I did lay on the horn!
Occurrence #s 4-100: Does no one know it's a law to have their headlights on ONE hour after dawn and before dusk?! Geesh! people, say it with me: "Visibility!" I should make a point of telling all and sundry that this is one of my top ten driving pet peeves. (I should compile that list and post it; there may even be more than ten.)
About today: I had resolved to be a productive sort of girl. I got so far as to finish reading a story, some taebo, and a shower -- Oh, and I vacuumed my room. I think I better work on either my resolutions or my will power to carry them out. That's a tough one. The to do list sort of worked when I had it updated.
Maybe I should resolve to update my to do list. hmmmm....
